About Alex

Hi, I’m Alex Rieger, a UX/UI Designer with a passion for creating thoughtful, user-centered experiences. I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, where I earned my BFA in Communication Design from the Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts. During my time at university, I focused on Graphic and Web Design, which gave me a strong foundation in visual communication and design principles.

In a world increasingly shaped by digital technology, I’ve always been drawn to design as a way to influence how we interact with the world. Whether we realize it or not, we engage with digital design countless times every day—on our phones, through websites, apps, and more. This realization led me to specialize in UX/UI design, where I can combine my creative skills with a deep understanding of human behavior and technology to create intuitive, meaningful experiences.

Through my studies and work, I’ve developed a keen interest in designing for the user journey. I’m passionate about simplifying complex interactions, making digital spaces more accessible, and ensuring that every design decision enhances the overall experience. My education at Sam Fox School also gave me hands-on experience in coding and developing a broader understanding of design as a whole, which helps me approach projects from both a technical and creative perspective.

Currently, I work as a UX/UI Designer in the BioTech space, with 7+ years of experience designing solutions to help organize, collect, and analyze patient data. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring fine arts through various mediums and love staying active with hiking and sports.
