Hi, I’m Alex Rieger, a Senior UX/UI Designer and Product Manager specializing in complex, data-rich products across RWE, clinical research, and interoperability-heavy healthcare systems. I bring 7.5+ years of experience designing tools that help teams organize, collect, and analyze patient data, with a focus on clarity, precision, and usability in regulated environments.
I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BFA in Communication Design from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts. My foundation in graphic and web design shaped my approach to craft, visual systems, and thoughtful communication, skills that translated naturally into product design as digital experiences became central to how people navigate the world.
I’m deeply interested in the full user journey and in simplifying complex interactions. Over years of hands-on, manual design across multi-step workflows, I’ve built strong domain expertise in healthcare sciences and feel equally comfortable collaborating with clinicians, research coordinators, and patients to understand their needs and pain points.
My work is also informed by an intentional, strategic use of AI. Because I’ve built these systems end-to-end myself, I can leverage AI tools to accelerate prototyping, validate workflows, and align cross-functional teams, while also knowing where AI lacks context or fidelity. This allows me to bridge gaps quickly, refine outputs with domain insight, and translate nuanced requirements into actionable engineering work.
This website highlights my personal creative practice, including UX explorations, animation, fine art, experiential work, print, and branding. My professional product design work is confidential and owned by the companies I’ve partnered with, so it cannot be displayed publicly.
Outside of work, I explore fine art across mediums and stay active through hiking and sports. This video shows a glass-blowing class I took in Murano, Italy, reflecting my love for learning new skills, experimenting with different mediums, and approaching everything with curiosity. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect or collaborate.
